Chelan Valley Players present A Musical Revue July 1 and 2, 2010 @ 7:30 PM Riverside Playhouse In 1995, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change premiered at New Jersey’s American Stage Company, where, in the middle of one early performance, a woman in the audience couldn’t help but blurt out “This is my life!” From that moment on, the creators knew they were on to something. On August 1st, 1996, the show opened off-Broadway at the Westside Theater where it was hailed as “Entirely winning! A show for real people about real people.” It played for 11 years, one of the longest ever runs for an Off-Broadway musical.
This show is a musical revue containing 20 vignettes that chronicle the trials and tribulations of male/female relationships, from the first “cute meet” through love, marriage and the baby carriage, to final days. Act I takes a joyfully satiric look at being single in today’s world and Act II turns its attention to the highs and lows of married life. The tone is comic, the music is frisky and the pace is peppy -- mature audiences will appreciate it. Featuring razor-sharp sketches, a wonderful score, and heart to spare, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change celebrates the never-ending battle of the heterosexes.
The ensemble cast is made up of actors from Omak to East Wenatchee: CherylAnn Ellingson (Chelan), Robin Andal (Manson), Rhonnie Craven (East Wenatchee), Doug Leese (Omak), Joel Yelland (Omak) and Jack Reynolds (Manson). Chelan Valley Players is touring the show this summer with appearances in Omak, Twisp, Chelan and Wenatchee. "We are so excited to bring this hilarious musical to the Riverside Playhouse and share its fun with our Wenatchee friends!" says Director Judy Johnston. |
