
Scholarships Page
Introduction
There are two CMS Collections that provide the content for the Scholarships Page: the MTW Scholarship Collection and Scholarship Winners Collection. Both are in the Primary Collections Folder in CMS. The MTW Scholarship Collection is a single-item collection, meaning it only has one record, so it will always open to that full item for editing.
Tip: Most fields in both collections have associated help text. Check them out for details about each specific field, including whether they are shown during open and closed periods.
In addition, many other aspects of forms can be managed via the Wix Dashboard, under the Customers & Leads > Forms & Submissions section (details below).
Opening & Closing Submission Periods
During periods when scholarship applications are being accepted, check the Accepting Submissions Checkbox in the MTW Scholarship collection. This will make the application form and its related instructions appear on the live site and will hide the closed message.
During periods when scholarship applications are not being accepted, uncheck the Accepting Submissions Checkbox and add a message to the Closed Message Field. This message will now display on the live site instead of the form.
Viewing & Managing Form Submissions
To view or manage form submissions, go to the Wix Dashboard, then Customers & Leads, then Forms & Submissions. Click on the three dots to the right of MTW Scholarship Form and choose View Submissions.
Updating Application Information
When it's time to update scholarship application each year:
Update all the fields in the MTW Scholarship Collection.
Update the Submission Requirements pdf if needed and add it to the MTW Scholarship Collection.
Update the expiration date for the form. Go to the Wix Dashboard, then Customers & Leads, then Forms & Submissions. Click on the three dots to the right of MTW Scholarship Form, then Form Settings. Scroll down to the Form Status Section and change the expiration date as needed. (Note that the Message Section that follows is not relevant - it applies only when submissions are limited to a certain number, and has nothing to do with the open/closed status of the MTW Scholarship.)
Adding or Editing Past Winners
To add or edit past winners, use the Scholarship Winners Collection, in the Primary Collections folder. Names will appear by year (descending) then last name then first name.
Changing Form Fields
To change the fields on the form itself, go to the Wix Dashboard, then Customers & Leads, then Forms & Submissions. Hover over the three dots to the right of the MTW Scholarship Form and choose Edit. Edit each field as needed.
Changing the Submission Confirmation Message
To change the confirmation message that is displayed on the website after the submit button has been pressed, go to the Wix Dashboard, then Customers & Leads, then Forms & Submissions. Click on the three dots to the right of the MTW Scholarship Form and then Form Notifications. Scroll down to the Confirmation Message Section. Edit it as needed then click the Save button.
Changing the Submission Confirmation Email
To change the confirmation email that is sent to applicants after the submit button is pressed, go to the Wix Dashboard, then Customers & Leads, then Forms & Submissions. Click on the three dots to the right of the MTW Scholarship Form and then Form Notifications. Scroll down to the Notifications and Automations Section, then click on the Edit button next to MTW Scholarship Submission Confirmation. Click on the Action box and then edit the fields to the left as needed. The email content itself can be edited in the Create an Email section.
Changing Submission Notification Recipients
Notifications are the opposite of confirmations. Confirmation emails are sent to the person who submitted the application, while notifications are sent to MTW contacts to let them know a new application has been made. Notification emails contain full details, including links to download all the associated pdfs. You can choose to send notifications by role within Wix (i.e. admin, owner, etc.) or by specific email address.
To change recipients, go to the Wix Dashboard, then Customers & Leads, then Forms & Submissions. Click on the three dots to the right of the MTW Scholarship Form and then Form Notifications. Scroll down to the Notifications and Automations Section, then click on the Edit button next to MTW Scholarship Submission Confirmation. Click on the Action box and then edit the fields to the left as needed. Recipients are designated in the Set Recipients section.
