Adding Cast Lists

Introduction

The Casts collection contains cast lists for all MTW shows, past, present, and future, so it is quite large. But it is pretty simple and straightforward to work with.

Choosing the Show in the Show Dropdown

When manually entering in a record, you can choose the appropriate show from the Show field dropdown. Be aware that there can be several productions of the same show in different years, so be careful to choose the specific show you need.

Tip: You can type the first one or few letters of the show name into the dropdown and it will filter the list for you.

Tip: If you are importing from a CSV file, you must use the official record ID, not the show name. You can find that by making the ID field visible for a given show in the Shows collection. Click the Manage Fields button and check the ID field. You'll see ugly IDs that look like this: 676f4e4a-7e69-4abb-996c-d00dac7fb05d. Use this value in your csv file instead of show name.

Leads and Sort Order

If you check the Lead box that record will be sorted to the top of the cast list. All leads will be sorted based on the Lead Order field, from highest to lowest (note this is the opposite of the usual low-to-high sort order). Non-leads will be sorted by last name and then first name.
